Giurgiuveanul is a local news portal that was initially launched as a daily printed newspaper in 2005. The newspaper along with a local television channel, TV Giurgiu, was founded by the local politician and businessman Florian Nicolae, a former MP for the Social Democratic Party PSD and National Liberal party PNL, who ran for the mayor office in Giurgiu a couple of times. TV Giurgiu does not operate anymore. Giurgiuveanul continues to be published by a company jointly owned by Florian Nicolae and his wife whose core business consists of “service activities regarding security systems.”
Nova Force Technic also runs the local television channel TV Giurgiu.
