TV Sat 2002 is a cable operator that has also developed a major media empire. The TVSat Media Group owns the television channel Exploris, which has nationwide coverage, Moldova TV, a station covering the region of Moldova and several other counties, TVSudEst covering the southeastern counties of Romania, the news agency Newss.ro, and the Radio Boom chain covering several counties. The group also owns cinema houses in Galati and Sibiu.
TV Sat 2002 is owned by the family of the businessman Adrian Neagu from Ramnicu Sarat city. He has built a monopoly on the cable television market in Buzau county, benefiting from the support of the Social Democratic Party (PSD) mayors throughout the years. These relationships helped him prevent large telcos, including international ones, from entering the local market.
