In March 2015, Focus TV was granted a local broadcasting licence covering Buzau, Vrancea and Braila counties. Five months later, Media Grup Production, the owner of the broadcasting licence for Focus TV station, entered insolvency. It has since then been owned by Ion Cristoiu, a Romanian journalist, and Vlad Pufu, the founder of Focus TV (later Focus TV Buzau), Sansa Buzoiana newspaper, Focus FM (radio) and Medika TV. Pufu started his career as a reporter, working for newspapers such as Evenimentul Zilei, Ziua and for TV stations such as Tele7ABC and B1TV, according to his Linkedin profile. In 2020, Pufu entered politics as an MP for the National Liberal Party (PNL). He was appointed President of the Commission for Culture and Media in the Romanian Senate in 2023.

Today, Media Grup Production has three shareholders: Justinian Cretu (70%), Gina Calarasu (15%), Mihaela Jingoiu (15%).
