Belgium: Crystal Computing
Overview
Crystal Computing SRL is Google’s Belgian data-centre and infrastructure company. It is registered under enterprise number BE 0883.073.944 and has its registered office at Rue de Ghlin 100, 7331 Saint-Ghislain. Companyweb lists the company as active, established in August 2006, with its latest balance-sheet year being 2024 and its most recent annual accounts filed on 27 June 2025.
The company’s activity is computing infrastructure, data processing, hosting and related activities. Pappers lists NACEBEL codes 63.100 and 62.200, covering computing infrastructure/data processing/hosting and computer-consultancy/facility-management activities.
The company is also identified commercially as Crystal Computing (Google Technology Belgium). Trendstop lists this commercial name and describes the company’s legal form as a private company.
Role in Google’s Belgian operations
Crystal Computing SRL should be treated as Google’s Belgian infrastructure entity, separate from Google Belgium NV/SA. Google’s Cloud subprocessor listing identifies Crystal Computing SRL as a Belgian Google group subprocessor for data-centre operations, service maintenance, and technical support for Google Cloud Platform services in Belgium. The same listing identifies Google Belgium NV separately for service maintenance and technical support.
Google’s St. Ghislain-Mons campus is the central element of this Belgian infrastructure presence. Google’s official data-centre page states that, since 2007, Google has invested more than €5bn in Belgium in data centres and related infrastructure.
Legal status
Crystal Computing is listed as a société à responsabilité limitée / SRL. Pappers lists this legal form, while Verif describes the company as a private limited company and reports share capital of €2.6bn. The SRL/BV classification can therefore be retained, with the large capital base noted only as a financial/legal detail rather than as a contradiction.
Ownership and group status
Crystal Computing SRL is a Google group company. Google’s Cloud subprocessor documentation states that the ultimate parent company for listed Google group subprocessors is Google LLC, itself a subsidiary of Alphabet Inc. The immediate shareholder chain should not be stated unless confirmed through Belgian shareholder documentation.
Leadership
The company’s listed legal administrators are Gabor Turschl, Paul Manicle, and Nancy Walker.
Infrastructure and investment context
Google’s Belgian data-centre presence is no longer limited to Saint-Ghislain. In April 2024, Data Center Dynamics reported that Google had started construction of a second Belgian data-centre campus in Farciennes, in Hainaut province, after acquiring land there and obtaining a permit for the project. The same report noted that Google uses Crystal Computing for many of its Belgian dealings.
In October 2025, Google announced a new two-year €5bn investment in Belgium for 2026–2027 to expand its cloud and AI infrastructure. Google’s announcement says the investment includes expansions of its data-centre campuses in Saint-Ghislain, will add 300 full-time jobs, and is linked to new carbon-free energy agreements with Eneco, Luminus, and Renner.
The older figure of more than €5bn should be retained only for Google’s Belgian data-centre and related infrastructure investment since 2007. For the broader current investment context, AWEX/Wallonia states that the October 2025 commitment brings Google’s total investment in Belgium to more than €11bn since 2007.
