Finland: Google Finland

Google Finland Oy represents the local operational arm of Alphabet Inc. in Finland. It plays a key role in digital advertising services while anchoring Google’s robust infrastructure presence through its major data center in Hamina.

Established in 2006 and headquartered in Helsinki, Google Finland Oy serves as Google’s legal entity in Finland, primarily managing digital advertising, marketing services, and related support functions. Finland also hosts significant data center operations in Hamina (since 2011), underpinning Google’s European services like Search, YouTube, and Cloud. In 2019, Google invested an additional €600 million at said site, bringing the total investment to around €2 billion by mid‑2021, with the center employing roughly 400 people.

Google Finland Oy is a wholly‑owned subsidiary of Google LLC, which in turn is a unit under the global Alphabet Inc. corporate structure. Jani Hirvonen is a tech executive at Google Finland—potentially holding a senior role there.
