France: Google Cloud France

Google Cloud France Sàrl is the French subsidiary of Google LLC dedicated to providing cloud computing services across the French market. Established in February 2020 and headquartered in Paris, the company manages local sales, support, and cloud infrastructure services for enterprise and public sector clients in France. It operates under the umbrella of Google International LLC, part of the Alphabet Inc. group.

Google Cloud France offers a wide range of services under the Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including data storage, machine learning, cloud computing, and productivity tools such as Google Workspace. The company focuses on supporting France’s digital transformation through partnerships with public institutions, corporations, and startups.

Google Cloud France Sàrl is wholly owned by Google International LLC, which in turn is a subsidiary of Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ: GOOGL), the multinational parent company of Google.

As of the latest filings, the company’s executive team includes a General Manager and a Board appointed in alignment with Alphabet’s European governance structure. Names of individual directors are published in France’s corporate registry.

The creation of a dedicated French entity in 2020 aligned with Google’s broader efforts to localize data infrastructure and comply with European and French regulatory frameworks, particularly the Schrems II ruling and GDPR-related demands. Google Cloud France participates in national discussions on digital sovereignty and has expanded its cloud infrastructure footprint through local data center partnerships.

While specific employee figures for the French subsidiary are not disclosed, Google’s broader French operations—across all divisions—employ over 1,500 people, with a growing share dedicated to cloud services.

In 2023–2024, Google Cloud France increased its presence in sectors such as healthcare, finance, and public administration, signing new contracts and expanding its local data center capacity to meet regulatory and client needs.
