MDI TV is a regional television broadcaster that covers eight counties in Muntenia, a region in southern Romania. The majority shareholder in Md-I Media Regional, the company that runs the station, is the family of Dumitru Miculescu, a local businessman who has investments in a myriad of fields. Miculescu has been also close to politicians, funding several political parties and was for some time the president of the local subsidiary in Dambovita county of the National Union for the Progress of Romania (UNPR).
