Radio Minisat Targoviste had its first broadcast in 1995 and has since grown into a network of radio stations covering several towns in the Dambovita county: Radio Minisat Targoviste, Radio Minisat Gaesti, Radio Minisat Moreni, Radio Minisat Moroieni, Radio Minisat Predeal, Radio Minisat Titu. The broadcaster has three individuals as shareholders (part of a family): Oana-Magdalena Popescu (60%), Ion-Mihai Dumitrescu (20%), and Camelia Dumitrescu (20%).
Ion Mihai Dumitrescu is a businessman and politician who was one of the first entrepreneurs who invested in an ITC company in Romania. Minisat was a cable TV provider set up in 1992 and later purchased by UPC, one of the major TV and Internet providers in the country. In 2004, Dumitrescu became a politician as he was elected MP for the Liberal Party (2004-2008).
