Radio Guerilla was launched in 2004 as part of the Realitatea Catavencu media group, later Realitatea Media. It lost its 24 broadcasting licences in 2013 when Realitatea Media tried to sell them, a type of transaction that is forbidden by law. The radio recovered its licences and started to broadcast again under a different management in 2016.
Currently, the radio station has two main shareholders (Mihai Dobrovolschi and Adrian Edmondo Popescu with a 45% stake each) and nine other individuals with minor stakes in the company. Radio Guerrilla covers 17 cities in the country.
