TV Sud is a regional television station based in the municipality of Targu Jiu, Gorj County and targets viewers in the southern region of Romania, especially in Oltenia (Gorj, Mehedinți, Dolj, Olt, Teleorman and Valcea counties). TV Sud started its activity in 2011.The broadcaster is run by Sud Media Production, which is owned by Ridzone Group Solutions whose main shareholder is the businessman Ionut Raitaru. He is well-known on the Romanian media market as former owner of Raitaru TV (RTV), which later became Romania TV when its licence was taken over by Ridzone Computers, a company controlled by Sebastian Ghita, a controversial businessman, sentenced to jail but who in the meantime fled the country.
