Tele M is the first privately owned television station launched in the city of Iasi, eastern Romania. The station, which covers Iasi county, is controlled by Aurel Dobasu, a journalist known for his connections with public institutions that have financed his media throughout the years. In addition to Tele M, Dobasu also set up the news portal Topiasi.ro, which he has been using as a platform to slam the people and institutions that do not agree to pay him.
